Project Manager – Electrical /Solar /Systems Designer

Project Manager Job:
A growing Energy Company is searching for a Solar System Designer/Project Manager for its New York City location. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, engineer, and implement large scale(100kw+) innovative and cost efficient commercial solar photovoltaic(PV) systems
  • Manage and oversee each phase of the commercial scale project solar project development within a designated timeframe
  • Attend site qualification visits, gather information, and complete the design and permitting of large scale solar electrical systems
  • Perform solar site assessments and feasibility analysis and make cost effective technology selections
  • Develop electrical and structural system designs and drawings, incentives and interconnection processes
  • Create professional CAD drawings including one-line diagrams, structural designs, electrical designs, and system sizing
  • Perform testing, inspection and certification, and ongoing maintenance and operation
  • Negotiate contracts with manufacturers, integrators, electricians, and installers for all services and materials
  • Coordinate and manage the development of a bill of material for each project based on the final approved design
  • Obtain design approvals from additional licensed engineers as necessary

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 2 years experience designing commercial scale solar photovoltaic systems
  • Extensive experience in the photovoltaic field
  • Design experience with medium voltage equipment
  • Experience with AutoCAD/AutoCAD LT/ Any additional experience with NitroCAD would be considered a plus
  • Professional Electrical Engineering license and state electrical contractor’s license highly desirable
  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering would be considered a PLUS
  • Experience performing design and permitting activities with an electrical engineering company is a PLUS

We are seeking a senior civil designer with experience on projects involving grading, drainage, site development and erosion control. You will work closely with other designers and civil engineers to ensure a coordinated design and compliance with safety factors, codes, tolerances, and specifications.

Qualifications:

AutoCAD Technician – Afghanistan

We are looking for highly motivated individuals who are self-starters with excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. AutoCAD technicians will assist Electrical Engineers, utilizing drafting methods and instruments to create and update electrical plans, schematic and other engineering-related work as requested by the in-theater engineering and construction staff. Experience working in a military environment or for an international engineering services provider or similar organization would be ideal, as would experience working in remote sites or in other arduous environments. In this role, you will take all steps necessary to meet aggressively accelerated deadlines typical of a contingency environment.

COMPENSATION/BENEFITS:

  • Competitive base salary plus 35% Danger Pay plus an additional 35% post differential pay for time worked in Afghanistan (In-Theater) for a minimum of 42 days and is retroactive.
  • CNA USACE Defense Base Insurance is provided.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Employment is project-based and will take place on US Military Bases throughout Afghanistan, for a duration ranging from 4 to 16 months.
  • Estimated hiring date is late August,2009 with an estimated deployment set for mid-September, 2009. Minimum deployment duration in Afghanistan is 90 days.
  • Working hours will be 12 hours a day, 6 days a week.
  • Candidate will be required to have, or be able to obtain, U.S. Security Clearance for this role.
  • 3 to 5 years of AutoCAD experience preferred in an electrical or power distribution engineering environment.

  • Experience designing components and subassemblies using standard materials and fabrication methods: CNC Machining, Sheet metal, plastic and metal injection molding, welding, etc.
  • Design experience using servo valves, flow sensors, air compressors, check valves, etc., aimed at designing and packaging pneumatic systems used for air/O2 gas delivery is preferred
  • Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD/T) using ASME Y14.5M-1994 standards
  • 2-3 years of active use of 3D parametric modeling tools such as PRO-E, Soildworks, Autodesk Inventor; Solidworks is preferred
  • Worked in cross functional team environments interacting with a variety of experts including mechanical, electrical, software, and technician personnel
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

Job Description:
The Gaming Technologies Group is seeking candidate for a full-time graphics and 3D game programmer engineering position to work in a fun and laid-back multidisciplinary team on QUALCOMM’s next-generation 3D consumer products. The Organization:
The Facilities Engineering and Projects team at Raytheon Intelligence and Information Systems provides design and project management support to the JDFPG mission. The Group is responsible for designing and overseeing the installation of new infrastructure and remodeling/upgrading existing facilities and systems, with projects ranging from $50,000 remodels to a $25 million expansion of the power house. In addition to the design and construction tasking, the Group provides technical expertise to aid in the operation and maintenance of the site.

Job Description:
The Space Planning Officer (Sr. Facilities Engineer II) is responsible for the coordination and management of all physical resource allocations and movements at Site. The Space Planning Officer will also ensure suitable work space for temporary business personnel for long and short term duration.

Responsibilities include:

  • Recommend arrangement of existing offices to maximize efficient use of space.
  • Maintain records of space utilization
  • Evaluate strategic requirements of the Site Leadership Team and recommend implementation strategies. Acquire and manage positioning of office furniture and equipment and related data drops for computer, phones, etc, associated with office creations and reconfigurations.
  • Manage workspace for long and short-term business travelers. Obtain and update requirements of resident organizations for future equipment and space needs.
  • Coordinate reconfiguration requirements and recommendations with USG.
  • Maintain agenda and minutes arising from monthly Space Board meetings.

Additional duties:

  • Maintain the Standard Unit Nomenclature (SUN) database
  • Act as a project coordinator on small space related projects (office and space remodels, etc)
  • Other duties as directed by the Engineering and Projects Manager.
  • The Space Planning Officer will work in a team environment, interacting with many site personnel (including customers) on a daily basis. A helpful, professional approach is required at all times. Reporting relationships to the Engineering and Projects Manager as well as project and design customers will be required. Reporting at various meetings and forums will a requirement. Position is located in Alice Springs, Australia. This posi tion is a two year tour with multiple tours possible.

Basic Qualifications – Required Experience, Skills:

  • Bachelors degree in Facilities Engineering, Construction Management, or a related engineering discipline, or equivalent work experience, plus six our more years of applicable experience.
  • Six or more years of experience performing Facilities Engineering functions.
  • Two or more years experience contributing to Space Planning activities.
  • Experience using AutoCad LT or AutoCAD.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be highly motivated and possess a commitment to self and process improvement.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills including the ability to effectively interface with all echelons of management.
  • Understanding and commitment to the principles of workplace diversity and equity.
  • Understanding and commitment to the principles of EH&S.
